Workpackage 10: Key features of teaching and learning in the university of tomorrow
Objectives
To achieve a pedagogic understanding of new teaching and learning requirements in a lifelong learning model of HE
To agree appropriate change strategies with reference to different HE contexts
To gather innovations in teaching and learning in HE across the European partners
To evaluate the effectiveness of the innovations in achieving new understandings and achieving effective change in teaching and learning for all students
Description of work
Month 26: UK-SRHE and LT will liaise with relevant partners over publicity and plans for steering group meeting, seminar, presentations, analytical strategies and follow up website discussion
Month 27
: UK-SRHE hosts steering group meeting and one day seminar. Partners produce case studies on "managing change in teaching" and presentations and papers on "teaching support issues for disabled students" (drawing on research from WP5).
Month 28
: UK-SRHE produces time limited website discussion to explore further the underlying values and issues pertaining to change in teaching and learning strategies.
Month 29
: partners will prepare a conference paper.
Month 36
: partners will produce a brief guide to policy paper on Key issues and strategies for changing pedagogic practice.

Report of website discussion to EC and associated networks
Conference paper on Key theoretical issues and strategies for changing pedagogic practice

Expected results
The workpackage will provide:
policy makers, professional practitioners and academics with comparative case studies relating to pedagogic change and resistances in different social and political contexts;
a range of change strategies for policy consideration in the context of European enlargement, access and employability
