Workpackage 4: Pilot research collaboration: conditions which affect un/employment for disabled graduates
Objectives
To identify and design, within the projects overall theoretical perspectives, successful interventions to integrate disabled graduates into the European labour market
To explore interventions in the context of teaching and learning strategies, curriculum, guidance and support
To analyse the effectiveness of such interventions for encouraging tolerance of difference and integration in society and the labour market
To contribute to policy reports on HE reform, teaching learning and change
Description of work
[this workpackage will be delivered in conjunction with WP5]
- Month 6
: establish research steering committee in conjunction with WP5.
- Month 7-8
: literature review and establish mailbase for exchange of information on disability, HE and employment outcomes.
- Month 9
: electronic conference (with WP5) to establish common research methods parameters.
- Month 15
: establish electronic database of potential respondents.
- Month 16
: administer questionnaires, focus groups etc.
- Month 18-19
: data analysis.
- Month 21
: conference papers on disability perspectives for society, teaching, learning and employment.
- Month 34
: contribute to guide to policy on disability perspectives for teaching, learning and change.

- electronic conference in conjunction with WP 5 (month 9)
- conference paper on disability perspectives for society, teaching, learning and employment
- brief guide to policy on interventions for teaching and learning to ensure positive employability outcomes for disabled graduates
Expected results
The workpackage will provide:
- policy makers, practitioners and academics with comparable data about employment prospects and outcomes of disabled graduates
- database of good employability developments in HE for disabled students
- a research based paper targeted at the academic community
- a practice based paper targeted at the practitioner community and policy makers
